SportsM8 Account and Profile

SportsM8 platform leverages several concepts to help you with accessing the platform (authentication) and also navigating across the many competitions you may wish to join. Those concepts are:

SportsM8 Account - This is your authentication (login) details to access the SportsM8 platform.

Profile - This is your details that are used to register into a competition. The details can be sync’d across multiple competitions to streamline the process of maintaining details and updating them.

Registration / Competition Member - This is your access and registration into a single competition. The details recorded here are shared with the competition administrators - they may now be sync’d with your Profile per above, or remain disconnected from your profile where the details need to be separate.

Please make sure you have updated to the latest version of our platform app. When prompted to update make sure you always click the reload button.

You can validate your app version at the bottom of the screen, you need to be on version 5.0 or higher as not all the new profile concepts will work with older versions.

What is a Profile

Released in March 2025 the new concept of Profile takes away the headache of having to maintain details across multiple competitions, especially when registering into a new competition.

As part of this update we have also expanding the registration data to include Parent/Guardian contact information, working with children details, and other information commonly used by all our competitions administrators.

How is data linked with my competition registration

The main benefit of the Profile is that any data you change on the profile will be synchronized to the linked competition registration, if enabled. There are two ways that data is synchronized:

  1. You edit the profile and the changes are then synchronized with any linked competition registrations
  2. You edit a competition registration and in doing so unlocked the read-only profile fields, then any changes you made will be synchronized back to the profile and thus any other linked competition registrations

NOTE: Even if a competition registration is linked to a profile, it can have the synchronization disabled by the competition administrator. For any older registrations this will be the default.

Parents/Guardians and Multiple member profiles per competition

Parents/Guardians can create multiple profiles for each of their children, which then allows them to manage the individual competition registrations for those children. For further details please see the Parents/Guardians section.

FAQ

Should I create more than 1 profile

No, in the majority of cases you should only require 1 profile.

In what situation would I create more than 1 profile

We anticipate the main situations that would require multiple profiles is when managing a child/minors registration along with your own and under the same account. Or when you wish to have different details such as contact information or payment information at different competitions. A better choice when it is just the contact or payment info that is different may be to have the competition admin disable the synchronization of your profile and registration.

I used the Parent/Guidance feature previously to manage my children’s account, are the features the same

We have worked hard to ensure feature parity. With that said, there are some changes to the experience, such that you currently need to use the switch profile button to change between your children’s accounts. We understand this is some extra steps and are working on streamlining this further for the My Appointments and Availability screens as we recognize those need faster navigation between profiles. Stay tuned for more updates.

What happened to the Child registrations I created using the previous Parent/Guidance feature

Any child registrations that were identified have been setup with their own profile but still under your SINGLE ACCOUNT/LOGIN. This will allow you to receive all the benefits that the new Profile concept while still being able to manage your children under the one login.

I see multiple profiles that you created but I don’t need those other profiles, can you delete them?

The best point of contact is support@sportsm8.com. If it is urgent, first email the details of the issue to support@sportsm8.com but then also talk with your competition administrator/coordinator as they can contact our support team and escalate the request.
