Competition Seasons
This article is targeted at the competition administrators and coordinators.
Digital Forms provides the ability to configure a workflow and capture the digital acceptance of a form and reduce the need for physical paper storage. To better understand this content lets first define some key elements:
- Competition: This is the overarching entity that an individual participates in. In some sports this may be referred to as an “Association”, and that is true for SportsM8 however a Competition can also has a time period associated. A Competition is also commonly a standalone single event such as a weekend tournament or similar which is why SportsM8 uses this definitions for both.
- Season: A season is a subset period within the governing competition. For example a social competition run at a local sporting club may have a summer and a winter season which would be configured as separate seasons within SportsM8 to simplify the administration and reporting elements.
Benefits of Multiple Seasons
Using multiple seasons under a governing SportsM8 Competition has the following benefits
- Simplifies administration and reporting across seasons compared to configuring each season as a separate competition.
- Reduces administrative setup effort in creating competitions within SportsM8.
- Reduces the number of roll over and registration events for members.
Which SportsM8 Subscription tiers are eligible
- This feature is targeted towards our social competition customers.
- It is not available or recommended for annual single or multi day events as these require fresh member registration etc.
