April 2022

The April 2022 update improved several core competition administration workflows, including scheduling, appointment management, member check-in, coaching feedback, push notifications, and mobile usability. This release also added more safeguards around completed competition days.

  • Competition days can be classified, with field-level overrides where needed.
  • Payment rules can consider day and field classification.
  • Check-in and check-out workflows were improved and made easier to access.
  • The match coach portal gained a fixture grid to simplify adding feedback.
  • Push notification and PWA support was improved.
  • Forfeit and match classification handling was expanded.

Competition administrators can classify a day as a sub-category of the competition and override the classification at an individual field. Payment rules can consider this classification, giving competitions more flexibility when different days or fields need different payment handling.

Intelligent Appointments, deleting or clearing appointments, and draw management received user experience improvements to reduce the chance of selecting time slots that have already occurred.

SportsM8 also added extra confirmation steps to reduce the possibility of deleting a day configuration that has already been completed.

The member check-in and check-out workflow was improved, including the ability to launch check-in from the home page. This makes it easier for competitions to track attendance and member arrival.

The match coach portal now includes a fixture grid to simplify adding feedback. This gives coaches a clearer fixture-based view when recording feedback.

General user experience improvements were made for mobile display, helping key competition workflows work better on smaller screens.

SportsM8 added and refined push notification support for messages and appointments, notification preferences, service worker registration, app icons, offline handling, and GitHub Pages routing support.

Match schedule and payment workflows gained improved handling for forfeits, appointment payment status, and default allowed divisions.

Backend push notification support was added for appointment and message notifications, including unsubscribe support and appointment publication checks.

Backend support was added for match classification, classification expressions, Intelligent Appointment minimum match officials per game, and improved payment amount handling.
