The March 2025 update introduced SportsM8 Profile, a new way to manage member details across the platform. This release improves competition registration by separating account login details, reusable profile information, and competition-specific registration data. It also includes the first Xero financial integration configuration work.

SportsM8 Profile

SportsM8 Profile complements the existing SportsM8 Account and Competition Registration concepts. A SportsM8 Account is used for login, a Profile stores reusable member details, and a Competition Registration controls access and information for a single competition.

This means common details no longer need to be re-entered separately for every competition. Contact information and payment details are good examples of data that can be maintained on a Profile and then applied to linked registrations where profile synchronisation is enabled.

Update once and apply to all registrations

Members can keep shared details up to date from their Profile and have those changes synchronise to linked competition registrations. This helps reduce duplicated data entry and makes it easier for competition administrators to work with current member information.

Competition-specific details can still remain separate where needed. For example, a registration may need information that only applies to one competition, or an administrator may choose to disable synchronisation for a registration.

Parent and guardian information

This release also expanded registration data to include parent and guardian contact information. Capturing this information helps competitions communicate more effectively when members are children or when a parent or guardian is managing registrations on their behalf.

The previous parent/guardian registration workflow is now handled through the Profile concept. Parents and guardians can create and switch between multiple profiles under one account, then register the appropriate profile into each competition.

Competition member profile linking

Competition administrators can now view and manage the relationship between competition member records and SportsM8 Profiles. This helps administrators keep registration, payment, contact, and Working with Children information aligned where profile synchronisation is being used.

Xero integration setup

The first Xero financial integration settings were added to the Competition Payment area. This introduced the initial configuration points needed before broader financial system support was added in later releases.

Profile synchronisation

SportsM8 introduced synchronisation capabilities to keep linked Competition Registrations in sync with a member’s SportsM8 Profile. When synchronisation is enabled, updates made to shared Profile fields can flow to linked registrations, and supported registration updates can flow back to the Profile so other linked registrations stay aligned.

Profile API expansion

Backend support was expanded across competition member, competition clone, check-in, match official, playing team, and profile services so profile-linked registration data can be used consistently across SportsM8.

Xero configuration support

Backend configuration support was added for the first Xero financial integration settings.
